Over £4.9B of design projects has been recognised in this year’s London Design Awards as winners are announced. The impressive figure demonstrates the significant economic role that design plays in the city.
“The number of outstanding projects and the economic activity they represent clearly highlights how important design and creatives industries are to London,” said London Design Awards Chairman Mark Bergin.
Overall Design Champion was awarded to Hilton Worldwide for a suite of award winning projects. The best large studio was awarded to NBC Universal, Brightec won the best medium sized studio and Cascade Studio was named the best small studio in the awards.
On Tuesday, The Economist launched a digital out of home campaign in New York City’s subway stations as part of its expanded marketing efforts in the US.
The campaign will utilize MTA’s “On-the-Go” digital network, a partnership between MTA NYC Transit, which operates the subway and bus network in New York City, OutFront Media and Intersection (formerly Control Group).
The “On-the-Go,” touch-screen steel kiosks often located on subway station platforms allow users to check train service status, plan a trip and look up train arrival information.
The kiosks also display ads, and The Economist’s DOOH campaign will feature post-election content, hoping to catch “globally curious” commuters, according to a statement.
